Pros
  • Cost - Only a quid - who can complain at value
  • Size - good size 7.5 grams
  • Colour- nice colour for my skin tone.
Cons -

  • Really hard to open - is this just me?!
  • Coverage isnt amazing but what do you expect for a quid?
  • No applicator - I like a puff with my powders!

Accidental Haul... Went to get tissues and concealer...Came back with the below....

So today I popped to the shops to pick up a few bits and got slightly carried away!!!

Eyes
(Clockwise from top left corner)
Rimmel Glam Eyes HD Quad Palette in Green Park - £1.00 - Poundland
Bit of a bargain here as I believe these were about £4.99 when they were knocking around in Superdrug - love the packaging which is the main reason why I chucked this in the basket. The quads are designed to give a full eye look so you've got different colours for the lid, crease and outer corner and a highlighter. They are all shimmery colours but overall happy for a quid.
MUA Heaven and Earth Palette £4.00 - Superdrug but on the three for two deal
I'm not going to bother going to much into this as the world and it's mother owns this palette - I picked it up as it's always sold out when i go in for it and I've wanted it for a while.
Rimmel Kohl Eye Liner Pencil in Green Shimmer £1.00
Once again another discontinued rimmel product which I believe was replaced for the jungle green which you can buy for £3.99 here. This is lovely for a heavy evening look and I cannot wait to use this during xmas party season.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold £4.99 but on the three for two deal
LOVE THIS PRODUCT.. I already have a couple of these but hadnt seen this colour before so super excited to wear this!
Swatches

Lips

So next up are a couple of lip products!! I have had a terrible cold all this week and my lips are looking disgusting so I havent been wearing lippy on them :( I picked up 2 products to try and resolve this and another cheeky poundland bargain
(From left to right)
Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 005 Pure £1.00 in Poundland
Another cheeky poundland bargain - got this lush reddy pink lipliner which I believe will be another discountined shade but I know these normally retail at around £3.99
Maybelline Baby Lips £2.99 in Superdrug - also on 342
Apologies but because I was dying to get something on my lips I chucked the packaging so have no idea what this shade is called - does the job - its really just a tinted lip balm.
Nivea Soft Rose £1.00 in Poundland
I got this really to see if there was any difference between these sort of products and the massively hyped Baby Lips, guess what - there isnt really! The only noticeable different is the shade on the baby lips is stronger.

Face
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer £5.99 (Superdrug also on 342)
Once again won't go to much into this as I know loads of people already own this product, I have the foundation so basically got this cause I hope it will be the perfect colour match :)
MUA Pro Base Conceal and Brighten Kit in Medium Rose £3.50 (Superdrug on 342)
Haven't opened this yet but it intrigued me... would normally go for the lighter colour but there wasn't any left! May be able to use the darker colours for contorting but will have a play tomorrow :)
MUA Pressed Powder (Shade 2) £1.00 (Superdrug on 342)
Again haven't opened this but thought i'd give it a try for a quid

Nails
(From left to right - All from Poundshop and unbelievably £1.00)
Rimmel Metal Rush in Purple Reign
Not sure how this has made its way to the poundshop as it's still available on sale in Superdrug here for £3.99 - ooh i love a bargain :) I already have a few of these and the colour of them is fab as they're two tonal products depending on the light.
Chit Chat Gold Glitter
Disappointing - in the tube it looks like a heavy chunky glitter out of the top it's a thin bitty low coverage glitter - might be ok if you layered it up.
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Kiwi Bikini
Really lovely colour and love the brand - top quality coverage.
Chit Chat in Rio
Was so excited about this as it looked like a perfect dupe for Models Own Hed Kandi Ibiza Mix- but in reality it's like the Gold Glitter - might try layering it up though. Let me know if you'd like to see it next to Hed Kandi.
Rimmel Metal Rush in Gold Save the Queen
Another metal rush product - this colour in divine for Xmas and might look nice with layers and layers of the shitty glitter on top :)
Please let me know what you think and if you've had any beauty bargains recently? If you would like a further review on any of these products please comment below :)

NARS Fling Lip Set

So today I did something quite naughty in my lunch time, I went into John Lewis to pick up some "presents and came out with a pretty nice one for myself! I've been eyeing up this NARS lip set since i first saw it in the gift guide and today i broke and came home with the beauty! I am now trying to hide it within my existing collection of make up from my fella whilst he's out playing squash!

So here's how I'm going to justify it - in terms of high end makeup its a bit of a bargain at only £30-00 as it comes with an amazing plastic lips shape case (very Lulu Guinness) which I think will be perfect for storing stud earrings in, 2 lipsticks, a velvet matt lip pencil and a velvet Gloss pencil!

I only own NARS face products but I believe the lipsticks are full size, 3.4 grams (they normally retail for £18.50) and the pencils are mini but still a pretty good size. The matt pencil is 1.8 gram and the gloss is 2.5g.

With flash - Roman Holiday Lipstick, Damage Lipstick, Dolce Vita Matt Lip Pencil and Baroque Velvet Gloss LipstWiick Pencil.

Advice Please Ladies?

So I'm absolutely over the moon as I've won £100 MAC voucher in a competition i entered recently!! :)

I know MAC is probably the Bloggers fave but I've got a bit of a confession to make I don't actually own that many MAC products (few lipsticks, a foundation I think I bought in the wrong colour and a couple of eyeliners).

So i'm looking for some advice how would you spend £100 in MAC? I've also included a recent (albeit slightly drunken photo) of myself so you can get an idea of my colouring.

Any comments will be massively appreciated :)

What I Bought This Week

I've been quite good this week with the exception of one extremely naughty purchase... here's what I got :)
First up is something which i technically didnt buy this week but on Wednesday they finally arrived! I watch a lot of Vlogs and have been lusting over the perspex holders everyone seems to store their make up in. I ordered these about 3 weeks ago from Ebay from a seller in China and they cost me about £7.00 with postage. I'm actually really pleased with them and think it's a really cool and visable way of storing lip products - here is the link to buy them!
Next up in this gorgeous necklace from accessorize which my friends bought me for my birthday - will instantly dress up a casual outfit.
This was a bit of a splurge - I've noticed that I've started I've developing a number of wrinkles and my skin is starting to look a bit rough. I went into John Lewis to pick up the bear and the hare Christmas cards and somehow ended up walking out with this. It wasn't cheap and retails for about £45 but i can already see the effects on my skin and am loving the product. You can buy this here.... If anyone would like a more detailed review please let me know.

Last up are a few items I got in the Topshop sale, as I'm sure I've probably already banged on about I'm a massive fan of the massive statement necklaces that are everywhere at the moment - these were only £2.50 each and once again I'll probably just wear them with a plain tee.

Glossybox November 2013

Glossybox November 2013

First of all there is a nice if not slightly runny hand cream - smells nice bit like chocolate orange. Little bit sticky left on the hands but overall not a bad product. This is also a full sized sample which is nice and costs £1.95, you can buy it here.

Second is another full sized sample - and something I can always do with a Scholl Dry Skin Exfoliater, this costs £4.49 in boots and it's a really good product - one which I use quite a lot in summer.  You can buy this here.

Next up was a full sized Emite eyeshadow - this from what I understand is a bit like a Swedish MAC and the company plan to launch in the UK in the new year. The eye shadows in Sweden retail for about £11-12. I don't think this is widely available yet in the UK. I love the colour, its a bit like a slightly lighter version of urban decay sin.

I actually already have this but it's good to get another full size sample! If you're like me and always painting your nails in a rush it's worth buying and it's only about £3.00 you can buy it here.

Finally I will do a full review as I'm quite excited about this as I've wanted to try these for ages.... Some Vichy skin products which are typically quite expensive. Will go into these in detail later.

OPI in the 99p Shop?!

Popped into the 99p shop today after work for some cotton buds and spotted O.P.I. nail varnishes for surprise suprise 99p!
So here's the stinker, they are crackle paint nail varnishes which let's face it is a bit 2010 :) but don't despair, because the nail varnishes are high quality you can still use them as normal polishes.
First of all you need to ensure you don't put a base coat on which I know isn't ideal but if you do it will crack.

I bought one of each colour so have Black Shatter which a matt black shade.

Silver shatter which is a fab shimmery Christmas colour.

Red Shatter which is very similar to the OPI Big Red Apple colour.

And finally shatter the scales which is my favorite and will be a go to Christmas look as it has a fabulous subtle glitter in it.

Christmas Lust List

Here is a list of my fave gift ideas for Christmas 2013, I have also tried to note some bargain buys as I know it can be a very pricey time :)

My first pick is the NARS Fling lip Gift Set which retails at £30.00 and I think is exclusive to John Lewis, you can buy this here.

Ok so you might be thinking it's not so much of a bargain but I am seriously lusting after this set, its made it in to my bargain list as when you consider each NARS lipstick retails at about £18 this is quite good value really it also comes with a really cute lip shape bag which looks quite Lulu Guinessy! :)

Second of all one of my fave websites for a beauty bargain is Fragrance Direct and they have loads of stuff which are ideal for stocking fillers.

My top 5 products on fragrance direct
1) O.P.I nail varnishes which retail for an unbelievable £3.99
2) Bloggers fave Kate Rimmel lippies for just £1.99
3) I'm a big fan of the Revlon Bitten lip stains and they retail for just £1.75
4) They also have a massive selection of Revlon nail varnishes for just 99p each - I've actually seen some of the ones they sell in boots for about £6 so it's a great deal.
5) There's finally quite a big selection of the Nicola Robert's dainty doll collection which being quite fair skinned I absolutely adore.

I have been wanted to try some of the LOOK beauty range for a while but thought it was a bit overpriced for a high street beauty product but they are currently having a massive sale where everything is half price and all comes with free shipping. You can browse and buy the seletion here.
Some of my top picks are the mini makeover palettes which are now just £3.00, I also love the fat lips which are a dupe of the chubby sticks and are super moisturizing and come in fab colours.

Finally i spotted these on ebay today and think they are amazing.
These retail at an amazing £1.99 and I think they're an amazing stocking filler for anyone - I have purchased these so will do a post about the quality shortly. If you fancy getting some you can buy them here.

Hope you enjoyed this post and it's given you some present ideas - unfortunately I appear to have purchased a fair few presents for me :)
